Ointment Method Aftercare Instructions

• Keep second skin barrier on for 5 days. Shower only during this time as taking a bath can make second skin prematurely come off.

• On morning of 6th day, take a warm shower and peel the second skin downwards with shower water SLOWLY. Water will help the glue loosen with less pain.

• DO NOT peel off second skin until after the first 3 days as it can affect healing by pulling off still healing skin.

• If skin is uncomfortable or irritated before the 5 days please remove gently under warm running water.

• If second skin begins leaking at any point, remove and continue with standard care. The barrier is now broken and must be removed.

• After removal use anti-bacterial or non-scented soap to clean tattoo. Gently clean with such soap twice a day for two weeks. Apply a light layer of moisturizer such as Hustle Butter or Aquaphor after cleaning. DO NOT over moisturize.

• Avoid working out/sweaty exercise and swimming/submerging in water for 2 weeks.

Tip: You can refrigerate After Ink’d for cool healing during itchy periods. Or try Aloe gel from Mad Rabbit!

1-2 hours after your get your tattoo appointment, take a shower. (No more than medium temperature water at the hottest!) Do not take baths as it can affect healing/scabs.

• Use anti-bacterial or non-scented soap to clean tattoo. Gently clean with such soap twice a day for two weeks.

• DO NOT lay on tattoo while sleeping until fully healed, use clean bed sheets, DO NOT let animals or children touch healing tattoo as it can create possible infection.

• No ointment application on first night of your tattoo. Apply a thin amount of A & D ointment or Aquaphor twice a day for two weeks to a month. The goal is to keep the tattoo lightly moisturized for the best healing results.

• DO NOT drink alcohol within the next 48hrs.

• Avoid working out/sweaty exercise and swimming/submerging in water for 2 weeks.
